Who was the Heer van Nieuwveen en Welsinge?

Born in 1749 and appointed elector in 1762, his full name was Johan Adriaan van de Perre. The Lord of Nieuwveen and Welsinge had the honour to represent Zeeland in the high state assemblies. Later on, he dedicated his life to science and the arts. In 1785, he founded the Physics Society, and the Middelburgsche Museum at a later date.
